ORDINANCE NO.   2003-8

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PARKING CHANGES ON JEFFERSON AND WASHINGTON STREETS AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION.

Be It Ordained by the Town Council of the Town of Millersburg:

Section 1:        That the portion of Washington Street east of south Jefferson Street to Sherman Street shall be designated “ANGLE PARKING” on the south side of the street and “NO PARKING” on the north side of the street.

Section 2:        That a portion on the east side of north Jefferson Street shall be designated as “ANGLE” parking. That a portion on the west side of north Jefferson Street shall be designated as “ANGLE” parking.

Section 3:        That two (2) parking spaces in the 100 block of south Jefferson Street shall be designated and signed as “TEN MINUTE” parking.

Section 4:        That one (1) space in the 100 block of south Jefferson Street shall be designated and signed as “HANDICAP” parking.

Section 5:        That the Marshal is directed to secure appropriate signs, conforming to State standards as to size, designating said areas as “TEN MINUTE PARKING” and “HANDICAP PARKING” and erect the same pursuant to State standards.

Section 6:        That for each violation the town shall be entitled to a judgment of up to Twenty-Five dollars ($25.00) together with court costs, and if defendant fails to satisfy a judgment entered against him or her for a violation, the Clerk of the Court shall certify the unpaid judgment to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Section 7:        That this Ordinance shall be effective upon publication and posting as provided by law and upon erection of the traffic signs as provided herein.
