ORDINANCE ENABLING TOWN COUNCIL TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FROM THE TOWN OF MILLERSBURG GENERAL FUND FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to promote economic development in the Town of Millersburg
WHEREAS IN Code 36-7-2-7 authorizes a Town to appropriate funds to reimburse town officials for expenses incurred in promoting economic development and tourism;
WHEREAS, it is desirable for the promotion of economic development in the Town of Millersburg for the Town to pay the expenses of, or to reimburse Town officials for, the promotion of economic development;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED, ESTABLISHED, AND ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Millersburg, Indiana as follows:
Section 1. Town Council is authorized to budget and appropriate funds from the general fund of the Town of Millersburg to pay the expenses of, or to reimburse Town officials for expenses incurred in, promoting the best interests of the Town.
Section 2. Such expenses which may be reimbursed, if approved by the Town Council, include, but are not necessarily limited to, the rental of meeting places, meals, decorations, memorabilia, awards, expenses incurred iii interviewing job applicants, expenses incurred in promoting industrial, commercial, and residential development, expenses incurred in developing relations with other units of government and any other expenses of a civic or governmental nature deemed by the Town Council to be in the best interests of the Town of Millersburg.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage by the Town Council.
