Millersburg Town Council Meeting
January 28th, 2007
The regular monthly meeting of the Millersburg Town Council was held on Wednesday February 28th, 2007 at 6:30 P.M. at the Millersburg Town Hall.
James Winkler called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
A motion was made by James Winkler to approve the minutes for February 14th, 2007. The motion was seconded by Abe Beachy and upon a voice vote was approved unanimously.

Water Superintendent

Wastewater Superintendent
- Monthly Report- January-See Attached-Superintendent Eldridge informed the Council that he is having trouble with the fine screen freezing this will need to be addressed in the future explained Superintendent Eldridge. Superintendent Eldridge stated that he has also had problems with pipes freezing related to construction.
- Superintendent Eldridge informed the Council that he would like to have a meeting with the Council and Department Heads to discuss projects for the future. Council President Winkler suggested that we wait until the Clerk/Treasurer returns to work as she will need to be present at the meeting.
Maintenance Director
- Maintenance Director Matt King presented the Council with a quote from Overhead door for $1,400.00 to purchase two door openers for the Maintenance Building. The Council approved the request.
- Director King informed the Council that his department would start patching potholes as soon as the weather cooperates.
- Council President James Winkler informed Director King that he had information from INDOT on grants that are available and will give the information to Director King to check out.
- President Winkler would like to discuss having a meeting to decide what roads need paving and give priority to the worst ones to be paved in 2007.
- Council President James Winkler questioned why the Street Department salts and sands the entire road instead of just the intersections. Director King replied “Because the roads were pure ice and so slick they needed to be salted and sanded on the whole roadway.”
- President Winkler stated that he would like for Director King to get quotes for a sweeper that could be added to the backhoe to clean the streets.
Marshal
Clerk/Treasurer
- Deputy Clerk Branden Beachy informed the Council that the temporary loan from the water department Improvement Fund to the EDIT Fund has been paid back. The amount borrowed was $24,700.00 with 3% interest.
New Business
- Conway Hershberger was present to present PUD plans to build on a lot at the south end of Monroe Street. Mr. Hershberger would like to combine two lots to make one lot measuring 66’ X 132’. It was discussed on how the alley would be plowed in the winter. James Winkler made the motion to approve the request to combine the lots; Dean Hawkins seconded the motion and motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote. The Council instructed the Clerk/Treasurer to draft a letter to be sent to the County with the town Presidents signature and Council approval.
James Winkler made the motion to pay bills. The motion was seconded by Dean Hawkins and upon a voice vote was approved unanimously.
