Millersburg Town Council Meeting
December 8th, 2004
The regular monthly meeting of the Millersburg Town Council was held on Wednesday December 8th, 2004 at 6:30 P.M. at the Millersburg Town Hall.
James Winkler called the regular meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
A motion was made by James Winkler to approve the minutes for November 24th, 2004. The motion was seconded by Abe Beachy and carried by a unanimous voice vote.
Park
- Council President Lee Nisley was present and asked how much money did he have left in the Park 201 Operating Fund that he could spend on the new playground at Cook Station Park. Deputy Clerk Branden Beachy informed President Nisley that he had about $8,000.00 left that he could use yet this year. President Nisley plans on paying some of the bills for the new equipment by the end of this year.
Water Superintendent

- Superintendent Eldridge was not present, but left a letter informing the Council that he has installed 92 of the 100 new Neptune meters.
Wastewater Superintendent

- Superintendent Eldridge was not present, but he left a letter explaining what the town could do about going forward with the repairs on the pump lift station. There was some discussion. Letter is attached.
Maintenance Director
- Monthly report-See attached
- Discuss vacating the alley at 225 W. Main Street Matt King’s property. The Council does not object as long as the ordinance says the town retains the right to the easement for utility repairs. The Council tabled until next regular meeting on December 22nd, 2004.
- Mr. John Rannells from Holt Equipment was present with the purchase/lease financial documents for the backhoe. The Clerk/Treasurer has to sign them and the town attorney needs to review and sign the documents also. The documents then will be picked up by Mr. Rannells and sent to John Deere.
- Director Matt King had a question about working or being called in on holidays and vacation vs. comp-time. Should they be paid comp-time and how much? The Council suggested that the Personnel Policy be reviewed to see what it says.
Marshal

- The Council discussed with the Marshal about some speeding problems in town.
- The Marshal reminded the Council that Santa will be in town on December 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Legion Friendship Hall.
Clerk/Treasurer
Unfinished Business
- The drainage problem at Steve Yoder’s property on Lincoln Street was discussed again. The Council decided to try and fix the problem with the parts that the town has in stock.
New Business
James Winkler made the motion to pay bills. The motion was seconded by Dean Hawkins and was carried by a voice vote.
