Town Council Minutes - 12-09-02
Robert Majdak called the regular meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
A motion was made by Robert Majdak to approve the minutes for November 25th, 2002 with corrections. The motion was seconded by Greg Baumgartner and carried by a voice vote.
I. Park
II. Water Superintendent
• TRIAD-discuss iron filters. Tabled as Mr. Frazell was not present. Mr.
Frazell did fax the quotes and will be here for the December
23rd, 2002 meeting. Council member Greg Baumgartner had a concern about
the ozone method of filtering for rusty water and asked Superintendent Eldridge
if he could get more information on how the process worked. Superintendent Eldridge
said he would call Jim Frazell and have him bring information on how the process
worked, but he believed that the process was harmless. Superintendent Eldridge
informed the Council that he had called Dan Platz at IDEM
and Dan said with the ozone system Ben would not need to use phosphate to treat
the water and he had heard only good things about the ozone system.

• Superintendent Eldridge would like to attend a tank maintenance course
being offered on January 30th, 2003 by the Alliance
of Indiana Rural Water Association in Ramsey Indiana the cost will be $10.00
plus motel and food. The Council approved.
• Superintendent Eldridge informed the Council that he received the ISO
report which rates the Town on fire protection and does affect insurance premiums
for the residents and the Town. The Clerk/Treasurer will fax a copy to Fred
Teal Insurance, the town’s insurance agent, to keep on file.
III. Wastewater Superintendent
• Monthly report-see attached
• Superintendent Eldridge informed the Council that he had received his
wastewater license and would like to discuss a pay raise. President Majdak suggested
that the Council hold an executive session to discuss the matter. President
Majdak asked the Clerk/Treasurer to call Council member Max Miller and see when
he could meet, as he was not present at the meeting.
IV. Maintenance Director

• Council President Robert Majdak asked Maintenance Director Abe Beachy
if he had any logs for the lift station at the tracks. Director Beachy answered
that he didn’t keep logs on the lift station. Superintendent Eldridge
needed them if there were any for Triad to use in their study of the wastewater
plant. Superintendent Eldridge informed the Council that he had started keeping
logs when he became Superintendent, but that was all the history he had and
it would have to do.
V. Marshal

VI. Clerk/Treasurer
• The Clerk/Treasurer will be taken a half day personal day on Friday
December 13th, 2002 and one day of vacation on Thursday December 26th, 2002.
Council approved.
• A group of towns’ people are asking the Town Council if they could
use the town hall on Saturday December 14th, 2002 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
for children to visit Santa. The Council approved.
VII. New Business
• The Clerk/Treasurer informed the Council that the Millersburg Chamber
of Commerce has disbanded and per President Wanda Gall all assets will be distributed
as follows:
1. Will sponsor the Star Awards for the rest of the school year.
2. Chamber will pay ½ of the cost of the town brochures.
3. The balance will be donated to the Friends of the Park.
Robert Majdak made the motion to pay bills. The motion was seconded by Greg
Baumgartner and was carried by a voice vote.
