ORDINANCE ENABLING TOWN COUNCIL TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FROM THE TOWN OF MILLERSBURG GENERAL FUND FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to promote economic development in the Town of Millersburg

WHEREAS IN Code 36-7-2-7 authorizes a Town to appropriate funds to reimburse town officials for expenses incurred in promoting economic development and tourism;

WHEREAS, it is desirable for the promotion of economic development in the Town of Millersburg for the Town to pay the expenses of, or to reimburse Town officials for, the promotion of economic development;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED, ESTABLISHED, AND ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Millersburg, Indiana as follows:

Section 1.  Town Council is authorized to budget and appropriate funds from the general fund of the Town of Millersburg to pay the expenses of, or to reimburse Town officials for expenses incurred in, promoting the best interests of the Town.

Section 2. Such expenses which may be reimbursed, if approved by the Town Council, include, but are not necessarily limited to, the rental of meeting places, meals, decorations, memorabilia, awards, expenses incurred iii interviewing job applicants, expenses incurred in promoting industrial, commercial, and residential development, expenses incurred in developing relations with other units of government and any other expenses of a civic or governmental nature deemed by the Town Council to be in the best interests of the Town of Millersburg.

Section 3. This Ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage by the Town Council.

ADOPTED, ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED this 1st day of April, 1996.

Whereas, It has been determined that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annual budget; now, therefore:


Section 1
: Be it ordained by the Town Council of the Town of Millersburg, Indiana, Elkhart County, that for the expenses of the taxing unit the following additional sums of money are hereby appropriated out of the funds named and for the purposes specified, subject to laws governing the same:

Ordinance 1996-4

AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE TRANSFER OF APPROPRIATIONS
FROM ONE DEPARTMENT TO ANOTHER OF THE TOWN OF MILLERSBURG, INDIANA,
FOR THE ATTORNEY BILL FOR YODER.
AINLEY. ULMER AND BUCKINGHAM. AS
REQUESTED BY THE TOWN MANAGER AND CLERK-TREASURER AND FORWARDED
TO THE TOWN COUNCIL FOR THEIR ACTION AND PASSAGE PURSUANT TO IC 6-1.1-18-6.

WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget for the year 1996 and it is now necessary to transfer appropriations into different categories than was appropriated in the annual budget for the specified function of the Professional Services Department to meet the existing emergency.

SECTION I. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MILLERSBURG. INDIANA, that for the expenses of the Town Government. the following appropriations are hereby transferred and set apart out of the funds hereinafter named for the purposes specified subject to the laws governing the same, such sums herein transferred unless otherwise stipulated by law.

SECTION II. Where it has been shown that certain existing appropriations have unobligated balances which will be available for transferring as follows:

Resolution 1996-11

Whereas, the Millersburg Town Council approved the Marshal’s department to purchase equipment above the 1996 appropriation line amount for 441m it is their desire to transfer the following appropriation amounts from one Major budget classification line into another as follows:
